Charleston SC – Day One.

31 May

With the exception of a couple hours of insanity, caused by “the tick” that invaded Drew’s personal space, Amanda and I hit the road bound for Charleston SC to relax, recharge, and celebrate our 3rd anniversary.

Here we are as we start the road trip…

Tonight we’re staying in a beautiful little Charleston Inn about a block away from the Harbor; the Palmers Pinckney Inn. We’re in the “Bombay Room.” Unfortunately, we forgot to take a picture before it got dark. We’ll take a few shots before we check out in the morning.

A great friend of ours highly recommended we have lunch at the Cru Cafe located on Motley. Turns out, we didn’t even have to look hard to find it. Here’s the “view” from our room’s window!

We really didn’t plan it that way, but we certainly took advantage of it. We popped in today for an appetizer and plan to go back tomorrow for lunch. Their cheesecake is out of this world.

Then we went on a stroll through part of the market (we’re going back for more later), the waterfront, and the East Bay Harbor.

here we are at the Harbor…

a glimpse down Broad St. (more of that to come later!)

Then we capped the night off with a late dinner at Fleet Landing which was incredible!!! Amanda ordered “Carolina Lump Crab Cakes” while Dan went for the “Charleston Shrimp & Grits” – both were magnificent. Then, as if we needed any more food, we put ourselves to sleep with their Southern Pecan Pie and Vanilla Bean ice cream.

Good night! :)
